November 9, 2020

Despite the unexpected challenges 2020 has thrown our way, the bookkeeping industry is thriving. Looking ahead, bookkeepers are poised to cultivate stronger client relationships, more meaningful work, and more profitable business through increased use of technology.

The 2020 State of Bookkeeping Practices Survey is a follow-up to the State of Bookkeeping Practices Survey we conducted in 2016, and the results show that the profession has undergone significant change in just 4 years. Between August 13 and September 26, 2020, over 1,600 bookkeeping professionals nationwide shared feedback on the services they offer, how they bill, the technology they use, and their largest challenges.

Read on for a more in-depth look at the state of bookkeeping practices in 2020 and how the industry is poised for growth.
